TONBRIDGE & MALLING COMMUNITY SAFETY PARTNERSHIP
Tonbridge and Malling Community Safety Partnership
The Tonbridge and Malling Community Safety Partnership is made up of a number of different agencies who work together to ensure the safety and security of Tonbridge and Malling's residents, businesses and visitors.
Organisations involved with the Community Safety include:
- Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council
- Kent Police
- Kent Fire & Rescue Service
- West Kent Primary Care Trust
- Kent County Council
- Kent Police Authority
- Russet Homes
- The Probation Service
- Invicta Telecare
- Kent Drug and Alcohol Action Team
- Neighbourhood Watch
- The Voluntary Sector
Tonbridge & Malling is one of the safest areas in Kent and although crime levels are low the Community Safety Partnership (CSP) wants to reduce crime levels even further. We intend to do this through addressing key issues of crime and disorder. These priority areas are:
- Acquisitive crime
- Anti-social behaviour
- Perceptions of crime
- Substance misuse
- Violent crime
- Young people's issues
The CSP produces an annual action plan which contains specific actions and initiatives that the partners will undertake to tackle the priority areas. These include working with victims of domestic abuse, undertaking youth engagement activities and running alcohol awareness campaigns.
The CSP involvement with the PACT Panel
The Community Safety Officer, who co-ordinates the work of the CSP, attends the PACT Panel meetings and helps to bring agencies together to solve any problems in the PACT area.
The Anti-social Behaviour Officer has worked closely with the Police and Russet Homes to identify those causing anti-social behaviour. They visited some of the people who have caused anti-social behaviour in the area and delivered warning letters about their behaviour. In most cases, these visits and letters have meant that the behaviour has stopped.
