PACTion : PACT Action !

Borough Green

This is a textbook example of PACT in action. Brightstart Pre-school  and the Brownies, who use the Parish Hall were worried about the use of this derelict shed by teenagers for drinking and drug abuse. They reported the matter at PACT surgeries, and directly to the Police. Members of the Public also contacted the Police, and the Woodlands Residents Association.

The Police contacted PACT members to assist in establishing ownership, and to seek consensus for a solution.

GOING

PACT members helped the Police locate the original owners of the building, the WRVS, and the current owners of the land, the West Kent Primary Care Trust.

PACT members decided that the best resolution was to remove the shed completely.

GOING ONCE...

The PACT committee spoke to the Community Youth Worker, also a PACT member, who organised a project to use a group of lads from the Borough Green Drop-in Centre.

Brightstart supplied orange squash for the workers, and at 11.30, Jackie Taylor, the Parish Church Hall Booking Secretary, laid on tea and bacon butties for the workers.

GONE

The lads demolished the shed and helped load it onto a disposal vehicle, swept the slab and then litterpicked the area.
