PUBWATCH
Wrotham, Platt, and Borough Green Pubwatch, (WPBG Pubwatch for short), is a community based crime prevention scheme that is organised by local licensees to give each other support and confidence as well as some form of protection.
The scheme works with the active assistance of West Kent Police as well as other outside agencies.
It aims to provide a coordinated response to problems that our licensed premises may experience. These include drunkenness, drug-dealing and use, as well as incidents of violence.

Regular meetings are held between the licensees, West Kent Police and others to discuss problems relating to violence and disorder in and around licensed premises in an effort to resolve them.
Horse & Groom, Stanstead
Problem customers are identified and in certain circumstances, the Pubwatch group will exclude those troublemakers from licensed premises within the scheme. This means that anti-social elements can be barred from drinking in any of our local pubs.
Henry Simmonsd, Borough Green
To date the scheme has helped to create a safer environment from which the three villages benefit together with an increase in visitors to the area due to generation of a safer and more pleasant atmosphere.
The WPBG Pubwatch is approaching its second year. It has proved its worth and is committed to building on its early success.

Bar "K" Borough Green
The licensees have developed a "Ring Round" system to warn each other of potential and actual problem customers drinking locally at any time.
Rose & Crown, Wrotham
A number of people have already faced the inconvenience of being barred from our pubs. Once a person has been barred, he or she can only come off the barred list if all the landlords agree.
The Bull Hotel, Wrotham
Local pubs enjoy a safe and relaxed atmosphere and liaison and understanding with the pub trade improves.
